KK part 2

On our second day there, we headed for the Tunku Abdul Rahman islands. We only managed 2- Pulau Sapi & Pulau Manukan.

But first, we stopped by the Sunday market for beef noodles, 'yui wat' noodles and fish head noodles. The beef noodles. Different from the ones from mainland (haha...mainland..)

'Yui wat' noodles. Good but I still like like the one in KL better.

Fish head noodles. The fish portions were MUCH larger than the ones in KL.

The market there wasn't that large but had plenty of things to look at. From live eels to orchids to kompangs ...and food.

The chung man and wife. They had at least 10 varieties of chung both sweet and savoury. Not cheap though....the pork & chestnut chung that I bought was RM 6.50.

These are....err... like ang koo kueh but flat and with all sorts of fillings like black seseme, salted green pea, etc etc etc

Fresh vegetables. Somehow the fresh produce there were all larger, more colourful and much more tasty too....

...and this is papa posing. A Photo of Human Interest..hahahhahahha....

Kota Kinabalu

Mummy, Papa, Aunty K (AK) and I went down to KK for a long weekend. It was SO fun. We met AK's friends; Aunty R(AR) and Uncle K (UK) who were so kind to us. They picked us up from the airport, arranged our trips to the island and KK park and fed us non-stop.

We started our binge fest with steamed kaya bread and coffee. Then we went to the hotel & unpacked & got ready for dinner. Dinner was seafood and a cultural show at Nelayan (I think...). It was teeming with tourists as evidenced by all the buses outside the restaurang. I don't remember all the dishes we had (sorry), but I have pictures! :)

Cultural show- the dancers were really good and friendly. They even gave the tourists a chance to blow darts at ballooons.

Prawns- I think they were just blanced (Or steamed?) and served with dipping sauce.

Clams- They were Huge!!!!

Shellfish..maybe lala??? A little spicier than the clams and also really good.

Steamed fish. :)

Scallops- served with fried garlic. This was the best dish of the evening. They were actually sweet!!! Yummy.

But remember...this is only the beginning....

Back in action

Okay, the camera is FINALLY back with a new screen (Thanks koko!) and the blogging can start once again.

We made dinner to taste the goodies that I brought back and appreciate everyone's cooking skills. We had veal sausages from the Polish shop, salted French butter with German bread, goat's cheese with crackers and fresh tomatoes with caramelised onions (with a dash of maple brandy).

Mummy made salad with pineapple, onions and.. other fresh stuff...and MAPLE BRANDY! (There's a theme here... *grin*)

And finally....!!! SN's super duper thin crust pizza. It was good...koko especially liked the ones with smoked chicken and fetta cheese.

This was only the beginning of 4 weeks of Food, Family, Food and...Food channels. Love you all. Miss you guys.
